An End Is In Sight

News8Austin: Early voting begins Monday

My fondest hope for the world after The Most Important Election EVAR©® is that the roaring nonsense coming from every direction dies down just a bit. That some of the bipartisan imbeciles and the partisan zombies back the hell off and spend more time producing value or enjoying their hobbies. That a few curious folks on the sidelines conclude, rightly, than it was all a farce of misidentification, grandstanding, and irrational expectations.

I certainly won't be voting. Not when the argument is about the best collective use our lives and our property.

Thank you for that. I have your blog on my bookmark list, but haven't visited in awhile until today. This is the first election since I came of voting age in which I will not participate - and do not plan on voting again. I feel like I'm living an Invasion of the Body Snatchers scenario, where it seems most people around me are possessed of a desire to participate in instutionalized theft and control over other people's lives. Like they really think it matters what team they vote for, and that the lies the puppets speak are golden truths that will lead them to salvation. I know the danger in such broad characterizations - the paranoid and delusional think everyone else is living a lie. But how else to interpret the history of our country and the path it certainly seems to be heading down and the change in attitude towards what it proper and right and what role government should have in our lives. I am done with it, I cannot wait until the election is over, and I am going to make a conscious effort to disentangle myself from thinking about politics. I have more important things to do.

Thanks for the comments, Frank. I hope you're coping with today's nonsense well. I'd like to say I am, but I have a sick fascination with politics and partisans so I can't disengage completely.
