"Blogging Delivered" AT&T Ad Billboard

This is the first time I've ever head of an ad for a blogging service on a billboard. Modern technology advertised through essentially medieval means. Not only that, but on the outskirts of a very tech-oriented town that stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding communities.
These are interesting times. What will it be like when blogging loses it's official new flavor?

Blogging is dead. Long live the podcast.

Just as some people have a "face for radio" others have a "voice for the page." Just as I prefer reading subtitles to anime when the English voice actors/actresses suck, I prefer reading the opinions of others, especially since I read so many opinions. If I'm listening to someone talk about their thoughts, I'd also rather it be in an active conversation instead of a one-way conversation.
Of course, if the speaker has an engaging voice and knows how to deliver a point intellectually AND entertainingly, then that's a viable alternative. However, it's also intrusive to others within earshot and requires a separate text transcript to be really useful for WWW linking.
I'm not yet sold on podcasting.
